COVID Guidelines
As a club we are conscious that we must follow government and FA guidelines with regards to our response to COVID. We have purposely kept communication to a minimum as we believe that we are in the hands of our governing bodies and government to communicate and set the pace of what we, as a club, should be doing in response to the new mode of operation. This is still very much the case but there are a few pointers that we now need to communicate to you all. These measures we are taking as a club are to ensure safety and well-being of everyone associated with the club and we ask that all our members adhere; We have appointed a COVID officer for the club who’s overseeing all changes necessary. Ross Ferguson has kindly taken on this responsibility;
We will publish our risk assessments on the club website and Facebook pages should you wish to review them.
The risk assessments are shared with each opposition club in the week prior to the weekends upcoming fixtures; The owners of the facilities MVCC have also created their own risk assessment that we will also publish in the same location. A Track and trace QR code for Manuden JFC will be visible on match and training days by the end of this week.
Please can you ensure you scan the QR code each time you are in the vicinity. This has been created in accordance with FA and government guidelines and will be common place at all Royston Crow fixtures home and away going forward; Currently spectators are welcome at all games and minis sessions. We do ask that if you are spectating that you follow social distance guidelines both with each other and with the children. Should that change we will communicate this;
We are currently reviewing our game day procedures for players. No handshakes are allowed before, during or after the game, substitutes will be asked to keep a safe distance from each other and the "three cheers" undertaken by our younger teams can still take place - but only while allowing at least 1m between each player and the opposition (no huddles or linking arms will be permitted); We will not be providing water bottles for any ages so please ensure that your child brings their own drink to both matches and training. Please ensure that it is individually labelled. Please can you also ensure they are either taken home or disposed of (recycled) in the appropriate locations after use. Anything left at training will be disposed of by the coaching team;
Where possible we will provide hand sanitiser – however if you could assist in this area and ask your child to bring their own that would be much appreciated. All of the above seems plausible and is common sense and we please ask that you adhere to all of the above to be able to protect you and your loved ones and to ensure the continuation of grassroots football is possible in the current environment.
As always if you have any questions please let us know. The clubs COVID officer Ross Ferguson and I would be more than happy to discus in more detail should you wish to get in touch.
Thanks Tim & Ross

New Head Coach For Season 2019/20
We are delighted to announce that from next season we will be joined at Manuden Junior Football Club by an Arsenal academy coach Ross Kitteridge. Ross Kitteridge was at Arsenal Academy as a player between 8-16 and then went on to Reading for 3 years. He's been coaching at the Academy for the past 6 years and we are absolutely made up that he wants to come and join Manuden and oversee all things football and development.
Ross comes with a wealth of experience and is incredibly driven to help bring this club forward to be something we can all be very proud of. During Trophy day I will be providing more details about how this will effect subscription costs and training plans for next season.
I will also share information about the exciting new independent Technical development squads which will be running in conjunction with team training from September and will also include girls training and specialist goalkeeping sessions. Leaving Arsenal was a big decision for Ross and I know he is so excited about this opportunity to take the club forward, to build a community of football talent in Manuden and to ensure the stability of the club next season and beyond. If you have any questions please let me know - I will be publishing more details on the website over the coming weeks and will be putting together some details for you to take away during Trophy day. We look forward to welcoming everyone on the 18th May and I will be sending a note out in the next week or so with logistics Thank you all for your continued support
Cheers Tim

Message From Our Chairman
20/01/2019
Dear all
Firstly, I would like to apologise for the length of this note. I had wanted to keep it short but there is a lot to say to fill you in as parents.
Secondly, I would like to thank you all for your continued patience and support of the club. We very much appreciate the sacrifices made by the parents who attend matches, wash kit, cut oranges and support our teams through the wind and the rain. It’s with this in mind that I am writing to you today.
I would like to announce that Vaughan Atkinson has decided to step down as chairman of the Manuden Community Football Club with immediate effect. Vaughan has run this club over the last 22 years and overseen its growth and emergence from what was once 7 boys playing football on a green, to the club as it stands today. The coaches and committee members are eternally grateful to Vaughan for his tireless work and commitment over the years and we are delighted that he has accepted the role as honorary life president of the club. Vaughan will always be an ambassador of the club and we hope that he can now put his feet up from the day to day running of the club, to allow him to do what he enjoys most i.e. watching games of football and oversee us as we take HIS club forward.
The vacancy of Chairman will be filled by myself and I am very excited about the opportunity this brings as we look to take this club forward. For those who do not know me I am currently coaching the under 10s team along with Ross Ferguson. I have very much enjoyed my time as a coach and have been working with a set of fantastic players for the last 3 years. I made a decision before Christmas that I would no longer be coaching the team next year but I was desperate to remain part of this great club. I am delighted that I will be able to play the role of the Chairman over the coming weeks, months and hopefully years. I have developed an amazing bond with the club, having watched my son and his fellow teammates develop since they started as a tiny 6-year-olds. Having played against many teams and looked at the set-up of their clubs in various locations, I am always drawn back to how special this club is.
I will be fully supported in my role by a committee and I am delighted to confirm that David Ashworth (Child welfare officer) and Andy Macmillan (Secretary /Treasury) have both agreed to stay on to offer continuity to the club, as well as offer their valuable wealth of experience. The committee members will be announced as part of my next communication. What I will say for now is that the current team of coaches have some great ideas as to how best to take the club forward. We are all very proud of this club and will strive to help it become not only a place to play football but also an active part of the community providing services to the children in the village and surrounding areas.
I am hoping to make some further announcements over the coming weeks with regards to a new club website, details of teams & coaches for 2019/20 season, coach development plans, the revival of the minis and much more.
As a club, our mission is to provide a community based football team for all ages. We strive to be a self-funding organisation which focuses on nurturing local talent of the children in our surrounding areas. We want to be competitive on the pitch and also forward thinking off the pitch. But most importantly, we also just want the children to be as active as possible and to enjoy playing football.
Again, I’d like to thank you and your children’s support since you have been at the club and I will be in touch with further updates over the coming weeks and months. We truly value your support and will be reaching out for feedback too. Watch this space.
With very warm regards
Tim Mather
